A home inspection is common practice in the insurance industry and generally initiated by an insurer to verify the condition of your home. A home inspection helps the insurer better understand the unique features of your home in the event you suffer a loss and the home needs to be repaired, and the risks to which your home might be exposed. There are essentially two types of home inspection: first, the internal inspection which, since the start of the pandemic, is performed by our customers; and second, the external inspection, performed by Hippo’s inspection partners.
